It's a device that is able to print frequency spectrum in desired band in real time. It has two SMA-F ports, one for frequencies 100kHz-350MHz (LOW) and second for frequencies 240MHz-950MHz (HIGH).
¶ FM band spectrum analysis
As we are going to test full FM band, the most usefull bandwidth for common frequency identification and estimation signal strength is 87,5-108MHz. This we can simply aproximate by 85-110MHz. The main parametters that we have to set up:
- working frequency: span we have two options: setting min and max frequency or center frequency and span. in our case, we can select min = 85MHz, max = 110MHz or center = 100MHz and span = 40Mhz. As we provide full band measure, seting of min and max is recommended as its usefull for all FM frequencies. Note that in full FM band measure, accuracy is lower, around 200kHz. For detailed measurement at particulary frequency, use center frequency setting and smaller span, 1MHZ e.g.
- mode settings: set up mode for measurement, we use simply input to LOW
Switch ON tinySA and use navigation button on the top or simple click to the display, menu appears.
Band settings
- select FREQUENCY
- select START for minimum frequency and STOP for maximum. For our case, 85MHz for start and 110MHz for STOP is recommended
- select back
Mode select
- select MODE
- click "Return to LOW in"
To get more accurate measurement over full FM band, averaging can be selected.
- select TRACE
- select CALC
- select AVER 4 e.g. (it's 4x averaging)
Save values
- select PRESET
- select STORE
- click desired memory
