- new mainboard
- small screwdriver or small tweezers (part of BB3 box and tools)
- spanner for SMA plug (part of BB3 box)
- sharp knife or tinny flat screwdriver or
Note all configuration settings from old Mainboard. Take special care of "Ventilator assign menu" as the values renewing procedure can be problematic. The best is to make a photo of the menu and use it for recovery.
¶ Removing Mainboard
To remove mainboard, disconnect all cables in following order:
- its recommended to remove battery cover first to get better access to the wires and plugs
- first disconnect RJ11 cable and audio cable, both on right side down
- disconnect power suply cable
- disconnect SMA cable using spanner
- using small tweezers or screwdriver push all plugs on back side out. Do not pull wires as you risk cable dammage. Slightly push plugs buth sides repeatelly until they go disconnected. Take care of the smalest on (2 wires one) especially
- remove speaker cables; they may be needed to pull out of the space under shielding
- remove all six screws from Mainboard lid using screwdriver
- flip mainboard upside down to right side (over transmitter module, take care of GSM cable)
- remove lid upside down to keep all buttons in their position
- then flip mainboard back to original position
- pull GSM module out of the plug, you can use pliers or screwdriver to help move it out
- flip GSM module and remove tinny GSM plug using small tweezers or sharp knife
- pull GSM cable out of the Mainboard
¶ Installing Mainboard
To insert new mainboard, follow this steps:
- put new Mainboard without lid on its position
- put GSM gable through hole in MB box
- connect GSM cable to the GSM module by slightly push in; check if properly connected, antenna plug must hold firm but may be rotated if pulled aside
- insert GSM module to its connector. Ensure if inserted properly, there is NOT protection key in the plug so module can be inserted wrong position
- connect speaker cables, long wires with plugs push below shielding. Be carefull to not push wires into the FAN grid. Double check this
- return all backside plugs to their position, the best is start from right side
- insert power plug
- connect SMA plug and tight it by spanner, rotate cable to "free position" before tight
- connect RJ11 and audio plug; be carefull with the audio plug. If pushed whrong direction, Tx module connector can be tear-off the PCB. You can check this by removing T protection shield and observe plug soldering. If moves in it's position, use solder paste and solder iron to repair it
After mainboard exchange, full testing procedure must be applied. This allows:
- fans
- receiver
- transmitter
- GSM communication

After mainboard exchange and testing, upgrade to latest MB version is necessary.
